Searching EBSCO's Small Engine Repair Database

Welcome to the Searching EBSCO's Small Engine Repair Database webinar page.

This session will be presented by Lisa Dennis, an EBSCO trainer, via a group teleconference and online demonstration.

This one hour webinar will provide a demonstration of how to search one of EBSCO's most popular "do-it-yourself" databases. Note: This is NOT a core database available at all BC Public libraries.

This session may be recorded and made available to participants and other BC public library staff via the LiveMeeting website. Session recordings will include questions or comments from participants. Participation in the session is an acknowledgment by the attendee that they are comfortable with their questions or comments forming part of the session recording.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Reference staff at libraries that have the Small Engine Repair database, or staff at libraries considering this database.

    Live Meeting Instructions

Important Note: You will need access to the Live Meeting email invitation your instructor sends you to get started on the day of your training session.

What to do 2-3 days before your training session:

    • Watch for an invitation from your facilitator to join a Live Meeting session in your email inbox.
    • Read the instructions. If possible, we recommend you install the LiveMeeting software a few days before your session. The other option is to use the "Web-based console" (no downloading or installation required). Both versions are fine for this session.
    • Contact PLSB staff if you have any questions about the LiveMeeting software or the workshop.

What to do on the day of your training session:

    1. 15-30 minutes before your session:
Use the 'Click here to Join Live Meeting' link in the email invitation.
      • It will take a minute or two for you to be connected. If you choose to use the Web-based console, cancel the option to download the Windows console and wait for the option to use the Web console.
    2. 5-10 minutes before your session:
Dial the number specified in your invitation to join the teleconference. Use the access code supplied.

    Other Requirements

    • Each participant in the workshop must have access to a computer and phone during the workshop (2 people sharing is fine with a speakerphone).

    • Ensure you can access Small Engine Repair via your library's web site. You will not need to access it during the webinar, but will need it to do practice questions before or after the session.
